Barbara Christine Smith

Barb passed away peacefully at the age of 73.  She is survived by her brothers Steven (Terri) Smith and Gregg (Janice ) Smith, and her loving friend Gary Goodwin. Brother in law Larry Becker; nephews and nieces Bryan(Terri) Becker, Mary (Neal) Brandt, Catie (Dan) Ehlert, Richard (Kris) Becker, Jacob Smith, Gabriel (Amy) Smith, Patrick (Adrienne) Cleasby and many great nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her parents Francis Smith and Mary Lou (Hendrickson) Smith, sister Diana, brothers Michael and Mark Smith and niece Christina Smith.  Barb was born in Omaha. Attended St Philip Neri grade school and graduated from high school at Notre Dame Academy. She worked many years at Lozier Corporation until her retirement at age 65.  Barb had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was very kind and thoughtful. She was very patriotic and loved honoring our troops. She made sure the memory of her brother Mike who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country in Vietnam would not be forgotten. Barb loved animals especially her dogs. She and her dog Tater brought much joy to the residents at the assisted living where she lived her final few years. Barb was loved by all and will be greatly missed.  A private family celebration of life will be held later this year. No public services are planned.
