Ellen Marie Fielding

April 12, 1950 — December 3, 2024

Omaha

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ellen. She passed away unexpectedly at her home in Omaha, NE, and will be lovingly missed by her family and friends.

Ellen was born to Court and Lillian Rice Fielding in McCook, NE on April 12, 1950, and grew up on the family farm near Hayes Center. She loved walking the pastures with her dog, Brynley, and was a steward of the land. She graduated from HCHS in 1968 and graduated from the University of Nebraska. Ellen worked for Nebraska Vacation Guide Program, Nebraska Human Resources Research Foundation, Knoll Company, Seattle First National Bank, and retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Ellen's kind and radiant spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her loyalty was unyielding, and her kindness, immeasurable. She loved and was loved by all. She never met a stranger and gave the best hugs. She was a caregiver and devoted to her family. Her interests include travel, painting, crafts, gardening, cooking, College World Series, Husker football, and Husker volleyball games. Ellen enjoyed travel and visited friends and family all over the United States. She tried to share a weekend with many of her friends each year to reminisce and catch up with each other's lives. Reecy, a dear friend, shared Ellen's enthusiasm for the College World Series, Husker football, and Husker volleyball games.

Over the years Ellen was involved and held many offices in Great Plains Creative Arts Association. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Benson, and was a mentor for Teammates, a volunteer organization to mentor and tutor young people in their development years.

Ellen is survived by her brothers Con, Stephen, Stewart (Reva); sister, Deborah (Larry), sister-in-law Ann (Craig); Nephews and Nieces, Marty (Tiffany), Courtney (Doug), Kathryn, Michael, Chad (Sandy), Brad (Emily), Maggie, Cy, Jeremy, Stevi (Cody), Chelsea and Brodrick. Ellen is also survived by many members of her extended family and many friends who will all miss her greatly. Her beloved furry friend and companion, Brynley, will miss her most.

Ellen was proceeded in death by her parents, Court and Lillian Fielding, her brother, Craig, and sister-in-law Susan.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30am on January 16, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2725 N. 60th, Omaha, NE. A second Celebration of Life will be held for her in Hayes Center, NE on January 18, 2025, at the Union Congregational Church, 300 Hall St, at 10:30am.
