Kay Ann Sheets

Kay Ann Sheets, born February 16, 1953, the mother to Lee, Jeffery & Daniel and stepmother to Russell & Maria, passed away in the early morning hours of January 10, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home in Omaha, surrounded by family. 
Kay never knew a stranger; she made friends wherever she went. She was well known for her love and compassion for others and for being a “mom” to many. Kay will be dearly missed by all who know her. Kay’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing.  
Kay was proceeded in death by her father, Kenneth Bennett; mother, Elaine Luby; and son, Lee Harvey. She is survived by siblings Kenneth (Terry), Roger (Warren), Julie (Ron), Elizabeth (Ron) & Andy (Elsie); sons Jeffery & Daniel (Amy); stepchildren Russell (Jill) & Maria (Myron); many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, lifelong friends, and beloved pet bird, Bob. 
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Florence Christian Church, 7300 Northridge Drive, Omaha, NE 68112 on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 12:00pm with a luncheon at the church following the service.  Flowers and memorial gifts are welcome but not necessary, memorials will be directed by the family.
