Loretta Ann Field

July 26, 1949 — February 20, 2025

Loretta Ann Field (Horton), age 75, of Omaha, NE, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025. Loretta was a devoted mother and grandmother whose love for her family was clear in all she did. Her ability to charm with both her wit and sense of humor made her a joy to be around. Loretta, was a force of nature; a resilient and strong woman, devoted mother, and grandmother. She loved to be surrounded by people, and she had a gift for making friends. It was second nature to her. She could strike up a conversation with anyone and leave them feeling like they'd known her forever. Her ability to charm made her a joy to be around. This natural ability, combined with her incredible work ethic, made her a fantastic waitress for most of her life. She truly cared about people, and you could feel it. She was the kind of person who would sacrifice anything to help someone in need. Her genuine kindness and selflessness will always be remembered and cherished. Throughout her life. Loretta faced more than her fair share of challenges. But through it all, she remained remarkably positive and never lost her joy. She had a way of finding the light even in the darkest of times. And she never, ever missed an opportunity to tell those around her how much she loved them. These are the lessons we will carry with us, striving to live with the same generosity and compassion she so effortlessly showed, forever inspired by the beautiful soul she was.

Loretta is survived by daughter, Crystal Gerken (Drew), grandchildren, Logan Field, Ella, Lucy, Sofie, and Sunny Gerken, step-daughter, Sondra Petersen, grandson, Mason, step-son, Steve Field (Mike Diggins) grandchildren, Kaitlin, Olivia (great grandchild Anaya), Kaleb, Jonny, Zach, Deirdre, Terell: two brothers Danny and Tony Horton and sisters Margaret O’Malley and Theresa Smith.
