Mary A Shaffer

Mary Agatha Shaffer was born on July14,1929. She died on February 3, 2025 at the Josie Harper Hospice House leaving warm and loving memories in the hearts of her family, friends and the assisted living caregivers here at Immanuel.

Mary was born in Nettie, West Virginia to Rucker Granvillle Chapman and Emma Mae Hinkle. She was the fourth oldest child amongst her 7 siblings. 

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher F. Shaffer. She is survived by her daughters Sandra Raleigh, Pam (David () Tingley, granddaughters Molly and Miranda and great grandsons Brooks and Brogan. 

Mary is remembered for being a kind and giving person. She loved to bake cookies,,She always tried to do everything for herself but was willing to accept help only when she absolutely needed it. Her daughter Pam remembers the following while growing up: My mother tending to her flower garden and her constant reminder that "it is better to give than receive".

Mary was so proud of, and full of love for, her family, grand daughters and great grandsons. Four generations were able to be together as one family. 

Mary will be missed by all who knew her, but her love and strength will remain in our hearts forever.
