Richard “Dick” Lee Johnson, Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on December 25th, 2024. He truly loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 35 years as an Associate Systems Engineer. He set a wonderful example of working hard to provide for his family and instilled those qualities in his children. After retiring he enjoyed some of his favorite hobbies which included riding his motorcycle, golfing, bidding on storage units and looking for treasures along with traveling with family. He was very faithful and strong in his faith. He was an elder in the Chalco Hills Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and volunteered many hours in voluntary door to door ministry to share Bible truths with any who would listen.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Mildred Johnson; sister Janice Gardner; son Richard L. Johnson Jr.; granddaughter Megan Johnson.
He Is survived by his brother Russ (Beth) Johnson, son Chad (Becky) Johnson, son Cameron (Amber) Johnson, son Kevin Johnson, grandchildren: Alexandria Herrick, Tyler Johnson, Devin Johnson, Samantha Johnson, Paige Johnson, Chad Johnson, and Bryan Johnson along with several nieces and nephews.
